Touriseum Merano
Het is het eerste museum in zijn soort in het Alpengebied en ligt midden in de prachtige botanische tuin, die dezelfde naam draagt als het kasteel. Het Touriseum zelf houdt zich uitsluitend bezig met de geschiedenis van het toerisme in Zuid-Tirol.
In het voormalige vakantieverblijf van keizerin Elisabeth (1870 en 1889) wordt 200 jaar geschiedenis van het toerisme in Zuid-Tirol verteld vanuit het perspectief van reizigers en gastheren. In principe komen 3 onderwerpen aan bod:
- Hoe is Zuid-Tirol een toeristische bestemming geworden?
- Zuid-Tirol vanuit het oogpunt van reizigers en bezoekers
- Toerisme als bedrijfstak
Deze 3 basisthema's worden gepresenteerd in een levendige rondleiding. De bezoeker begint in 1750, toen de Alpen een oord van verschrikking waren, gaat naar 1890, toen vooral Merano zijn hoogtepunt als kuuroord beleefde, leert hoe de oorlog in 1914 het vakantieparadijs binnendrong en reist door de jaren van het "economische wonder" tot vandaag, nu Zuid-Tirol als "merk" wereldberoemd is.
Na de rondleiding door het museum nodigt de "woonkamer" op de 2e verdieping bezoekers uit om te lezen en te blijven hangen. In de moppentoren kunt u zich vermaken met karikaturen en moppen over het toerisme in Zuid-Tirol of meer informatie krijgen over historische feiten, verschillende statistieken enz. in het pc-station. De blikvanger bij de uitgang is 's werelds grootste flipperkast voor toerisme. De tentoonstelling eindigt met een symbolische rondleiding door Zuid-Tirol.
