Ratschings is een uitgestrekte gemeente in Zuid-Tirol die drie Alpendalen omvat: het Ridnaun-dal, het Ratsching-dal en het Val di Giovo met de Jaufenpas. Of het nu gaat om een kortere wandeling door de Burkhard- of Gilfenklammkloven of een langere Zevenmerenwandeling - deze twee bijzonder mooie tochten zijn slechts 2 voorbeelden uit een bonte verzameling wandelroutes in en rond Ratschings. Wie naar de top wil, kan vanuit de berghutten Becherhaus of Müllerhütte, die op meer dan 3.100 m hoogte liggen, naar felbegeerde toppen in de Stubaier Alpen klimmen. Er zijn ook tal van interessante routes voor fietsers. De Jaufenpas is bijvoorbeeld een populaire bestemming voor mountainbikers en racefietsers.
In de winter verheugen skitoerers zich op toppen als de Wetterspitze, en Ratschings biedt ook een verscheidenheid aan routes voor sneeuwschoenwandelaars en sneeuwzekere loipes voor langlaufers. Het skigebied Ratschings-Jaufen bekoort als gezinsvriendelijk wintersportcentrum met funpark en rodelbaan. Na de sportieve activiteiten houden jonge en oude vakantiegangers van een pauze in een rustieke almhut.

Een spannend avontuur wacht op kinderen en volwassenen in de mijnwereld van Ridanna Schneeberg. De permanente tentoonstelling geeft inzicht in de lokale mijnbouwtraditie en bezoekers kunnen zich voelen als mijnwerkers tijdens spannende rondleidingen, die variëren van beginnersrondleidingen tot juniorrondleidingen en dagtochten. De bezienswaardige gotische kapel St. Magdalena werd trouwens ook door mijnwerkers gebouwd.
Het themapad Mountain Adventure World bij het bergstation van de kabelbaan Ratschings-Jaufen brengt kinderen spelenderwijs dichter bij de natuur en verrukt met een reuzenglijbaan. Wie het liever wat rustiger aan doet, kan een bezoek brengen aan het Regionale Museum van Jacht en Visserij in het barokke kasteel Wolfsthurn of een bezoek brengen aan het nabijgelegen Vipiteno. De mooie stad Fugger in het hoger gelegen Eisacktal biedt middeleeuwse flair en modern winkelplezier in het historische stadscentrum.
