Natuurpark Monte Corno
Bos en hei, weide en mos - het natuurpark Monte Corno biedt geen imposante bergtoppen van drieduizend meter, maar wel een ongelooflijke verscheidenheid aan dieren en planten. En vanwege de korte winter kun je hier tijdens wandelingen bijna het hele jaar door bloesem en groen ontdekken.
Het natuurpark Monte Corno in het uiterste zuiden van Zuid-Tirol is het meest soortenrijke natuurpark van Zuid-Tirol. Het omsluit een dichtbeboste bergrug tussen het Adige-dal en het Cembra-dal, die bestaat uit bruinrode kwartsporfier en lichte dolomitische kalksteen en daardoor bijzonder mooie contrasten biedt. De 1.781 m hoge top van de Monte Corno ligt net buiten het natuurpark en de nationale grens in Trentino.

Het natuurreservaat beslaat een gebied van 6.851 ha en delen van de gemeentes Anterivo, Truden, Egna, Montagna en Salorno. De verscheidenheid aan bossen is indrukwekkend - van supramediterraan struikgewas tot subalpien sparrenbos. Geweldig voor bloemenliefhebbers: er groeien ongeveer 60 verschillende soorten orchideeën in het natuurpark. Ook de flora en fauna van de ecologisch waardevolle hoogvenen in het natuurpark zijn spannend: zonnedauw en vetblad zijn inheemse vleesetende planten die insecten vangen en verteren en zo zelfs op voedselarme grond overleven.

Tijdens een wandeling over de Hochwand naar de Cisloner Alm of over de biotoop Lange Moos naar de Krabes Alm: in het natuurpark Monte Corno kunnen natuurliefhebbers prachtige panorama's, zeldzame planten en idyllische plekjes ontdekken. De Trudner Sagenweg en de Anterivo Sagenweg zijn bijzonder interessant voor gezinnen met kinderen. Gezinsvriendelijk en informatief is ook het natuurbelevenispad Gschnoner Rundwanderweg met de Kanzel als groots uitkijkpunt.

In het dorpscentrum van Truden leert het Natuurparkhuis jong en oud over de dieren, planten en geologie van het natuurgebied. Op bepaalde dagen kunnen bezoekers zien hoe graan wordt gemalen in een elevatormolen of hoe brood wordt gebakken in een traditionele houtoven. Daarnaast is er een informatiepunt in Gfrill, een deelgemeente van Salorno, met interessante informatie over het water-, amfibieën- en vogelleven in het natuurpark.
